Rules of Analysis Empty Rules of Analysis

- Respect, respect, respect! If you are giving feedback, please ensure that it is mild-mannered, non-inflammatory, and (most of all) constructive. The person who created the work that you are analyzing worked very diligently on it and would probably appreciate some real pointers. A compliment sandwich always seems to work best in this case: compliment, criticism, compliment. "The colour in this painting is amazing. I'm not sure that I like the way the dog looks like a rat, but his eyes are so lifelike!"

- Please keep in mind the purpose of this subforum when you request an analysis of your artwork. This isn't the place to fish for compliments. The analysis you will receive here will probably be a combination of constructive criticism and praise. If you don't feel you're able to handle criticism, please consider carefully before submitting work to be analyzed.

- When an artist says stop, please stop. Artwork tends to be very close to the heart of its creator, so if an artist closes their thread to further analysis, please respect their request. Please indicate your desire to close your thread for further review by editing the title of the thread with the word "CLOSED" so that other analysts will be made aware before taking the time to critique your work. If you are an artist who has had enough analysis and would like your thread locked to prevent further unwanted praise and/or criticism, please PM an Artistic Dreamer.
